Omnivision on Pixel Design and Optimization

Electronic Imaging 2017 publishes Omnivision's CTO, Boyd Fowler, presentation "CMOS Image Sensor Pixel Design and Optimization." Few slides from the presentation:


Meanwhile, Electronic Imaging 2018 calls for image sensor papers for the next year conference to be held on January 28 - February 1, 2018 in Burlingame, California.

  1. The pinned photodiode CMOS image sensor was first publicly described in the 1995 IEEE Workshop on CCDs and Advanced Image Sensors at Dana Point CA by JPL and Kodak and was a joint JPL/Kodak invention.

    2. Dear Anon, there is a slide that says PPD CIS was first described in 1997. Just helping Boyd with the correction, that's all. It is important (to me) to get the facts straight when there is a clear error.
